The Devil Visited Me

Today the devil reminded me
That am a scrap to be thrown into the bin
Today the devil and his family visited me
And pumped into my brain that I am no good

Today I feel worthless, a dirty rag in dust
Today my mind is clogged
With deep thoughts of loss and despair
Today, smiles have ceased to form
And wrinkles took their place
Today, my sun was dimmed
And my moon was tossed into the abyss

The devil never came knocking
Neither did he come walking
Like a whirlwind, he swirled my thoughts
Reminding me of my ugly past
And masking it with my unknown future
Yes, the devil visited and made me a mess
But it’s upon me to make me a positive man
